MEET BRYAN SCHEIDECKER - SAXOPHONE INSTRUCTOR
Bryan Scheidecker First got involved with music playing the saxophone in 4th grade at Jellick Elementary in Rowland Heights, CA on a big blue hollowed out school bus called the “Note Boat”. Little did he know that by walking onto that bus, his life would be changed forever.

After moving to Chino Hills, CA, Bryan continued with music playing percussion (since his parents didn’t think he took saxophone seriously, and a drum pad and sticks were much less than renting a saxophone). After proving that music was his passion, his grandma bought him his first saxophone, in which he took with him to Townsend Jr. High School.

After four years in the music program at Ruben S. Ayala High School, Bryan decided that music was not only his passion, but a necessity in life. He then went on to study with his mentor (still to this day), Steve Wilkerson.

Since 1999, Bryan has instructed at many schools in the area including Townsend Jr. High School, Ayala High School, Chino Hills High School, Nogales High School, and Don Lugo High School in various captions from woodwinds to percussion ensembles. Bryan was also involved with the Drum Corps International’s Division III Champions “Impulse” 2003-2006 and is currently the Visual Caption Head for Incognito Drum & Bugle Corps. In addition to instructing, Bryan is also an adjudicator for the Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA) and Winter Guard International (WGI) indoor drumline circuits, and is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.

As a performer, Bryan has played with artists such as Steve Wilkerson, Jeff Hamilton, the Jazz on the Latin Side Allstars, Poncho Sanchez, and as a soloist for Grammy Award winner Celine Dion.

Bryan is now an Percussion Product Specialist for Kaman Music Corp., and assists as an Artist Relations Representative for Gretsch Drums and Gibraltar Hardware.

“Many people have been key players in my success as a musician with all of their help and support. The people that I would like to especially thank include Mark Stone, Steve Wilkerson, and Craig Durst, but the MOST important people in my life that have ALWAYS been behind me are my Parents Larry and Susie Scheidecker, my Sister Natalie, and my Grandma. I wouldn’t be who I am without them!”
